what & why

The Reflexions website is a space where I experiment, learn and share my thoughts on various topics with a focus on digital aspects. This site was also an opportunity to learn some programming basics to host my own content and move away from prefabricated websites in an indieweb spirit.

This “reflexions” space is a first step..

Through my profession, I am led to write and draft legal and judicial content. I develop arguments to convince of the application, or not, of a rule of law. I have also written articles and books (social media & blockchain) and I discovered writing.

I took pleasure in carrying out these writing exercises without really thinking about the reasons. I liked putting my ideas down and structuring my thinking. A few years ago, I delved into the topic of writing and “reflection”. In my research on the subject, I read Paul Graham’s (essential) article, Putting ideas into words, which helped me understand some of the reasons for this taste for writing.

Neel Nanda wrote on his blog:

We all have our standard toolkits, and ways of seeing the world. And these vary a lot between people! Asking people for advice or suggestions is almost universally useful when you want to expand your horizons of possible ideas. I’ve lost count of the number of times someone has given me a suggestion they thought was obvious that I’d never have come up with, but seemed instantly insightful when I heard it.

I also publish my content for two reasons:

  1. Because it might interest someone, somewhere, at some point.

  2. And because knowing that someone might read what I publish pushes me to improve the quality of the reflection (a reason I found here).

I hope that the content I share can give someone a different point of view that will be useful to them. These are also just simple reflections. So take them as they are and your indulgence regarding the proposed content is your best contribution.
