Digital

Posted on Feb 15, 2025

Having always had a taste for technology and digital, I observed the subject without a critical eye. This view was however distant and free of political and/or philosophical reflections. I followed digital news without questioning it.

In 2020, I had the opportunity to write a legal book on social media law. In this book, I tried to cover the legal treatment of situations encountered on social networks. This exploration allowed me to understand and deepen freedom of expression and discover the democratic, societal and/or philosophical critiques of digital technology.

Since then, I have continued to follow this news trying to sharpen my view on digital technology, sometimes even taking the opposite view of some of my historical beliefs.

Furthermore, in addition to my awareness of certain excesses, current events allow me to push the reflection continually as events unfold.

The Covid crisis, the Woke movement, Elon Musk’s acquisition of Twitter, the entry into force of the European Digital Services Act, Trump’s re-election, Zuckerberg’s statements in January 2025, etc. are, each time, reasons to deepen my reflection on the subject and sharpen my opinion on digital technology.

The awareness of the omnipresence of big tech companies is becoming collective and the media coverage of this state of affairs leads me to exchange my point of view more and more.

In order to share my reflection and the resources that have marked me, this page will be updated as my wanderings and readings progress.

I hope that the curious reader will find some interesting resources to explore this vast subject and that they can nourish their own reflection.
